Embrace Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a certain level of fitness?

No, we work with women through all ages and stages. All of our exercises can be progressed or regressed to suit each individual. Once we start training with you and get to know what your capabilities or restrictions are we will be able to give you modified versions to suit your individual level. If you are unsure of an exercise or think it might aggravate a pre-existing injury, please stop, and ask the Trainer to modify it for you.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring a towel and water bottle to all sessions. For Boxing classes you will need to wear inners or wraps.  Inners can be purchased at Reception . For our weights based classes you may want to consider wearing weight gloves, there are ones in Sports Stores with Wrist Straps if you have weak wrists. It is also a good idea to keep a wrist sweat band in your gym bag for when we do Kettlebell work. Bottled water is available for purchase at Reception before your class starts.

Do I need to book classes?

Yes, every group fitness class or open gym session needs to be booked through the PT Minder App/Website.

Do I need a partner for boxing?

No, we will match you with someone of similar strength, ability and height. Cotton inners are compulsory to keep the gloves fresh and your hands hygienic (purchase at Reception). Boxing Gloves & Focus Mits will be supplied however you are very welcome to bring your own if you prefer.

Can I bring my kids to classes?

Yes, kids and babies are more than welcome in our Creche at all of our 9:15am, 4:30pm and 5:30pm classes. The Creche is FREE for our Premium members on a recurring membership and just $3 per child, per visit for Casuals and Fitness Passport Members. You are very welcome to bring snacks for them (no nuts or popcorn please), just keep in mind what might be easier for them to eat. Should they become disruptive at any time we will ask you to attend to them. To avoid injury to your children or damage to our equipment we ask that you ensure that they do not play with or climb on any of the equipment, or play in the gym area.

Can I pause my membership?

We will only pause memberships for medical reasons upon written proof from your treating Physician. Memberships can be paused for a maximum period of 4 weeks (minimum period of 1 week) per calendar year. If you need to pause your membership for medical reasons within the first 12 weeks of your initial minimum period, your initial minimum period will be extended by the numbers of weeks paused. How do I buy Embrace merchandise?

We have a variety of merchandise including shirts, hats, singlets and Jumpers. Please see Reception.

How do I stay up to date with what's happening at Embrace?

Once you have purchased a membership or package, you will be added to our email list. Please also click "Groups" on our Facebook page and join our 2 private FB Groups "Embrace Fitness Sisterhood" (current clients only) and "Embrace Women's Wellness" (please feel free to add your friends to this group).

Can I bring a friend?

We'd love for you to bring a friend along. Casual Passes can be purchased via PT Minder. Please ask them to come 10 minutes earlier so they can discuss any injuries or medical conditions with the Trainer.

What if I have an injury?

If you have any injuries or medical conditions that may affect your workout please speak to the Trainer before the class so that they can modify the exercises to suit where required. Should you feel that something isn't right at any time please cease the workout and visit your doctor if required. Our Trainers are very approachable and will accommodate to suit as recommended by your Doctor or Physio.

Where can I park?

We have street parking available there is the large car park between Castlemaine and Carlton Street, Please be sure not to park in neighbouring businesses private car parks.
